Plaster Pool Finish

Traditional pool surface finish made of white or pigmented plaster troweled smooth, with a 10–12 year typical lifespan in North Georgia.

Definition

What plaster pool finish actually means.

Plaster (also called marcite) is the baseline pool finish — a mixture of white portland cement and finely-ground marble dust, troweled smooth over the pool's concrete shell. Lifespan in Northeast Georgia runs 10–12 years before resurfacing is needed. Plaster is the lowest upfront cost of the common pool finishes; trade-off is the shortest service life and the highest susceptibility to staining from local water chemistry.
